RALEIGH, N.C. — The MIT men's track & field team opened the outdoor season on Thursday, competing at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University.
THE BASICS:
HOW IT HAPPENED - FIELD EVENTS
- Javelin: Sophomore Jonah Goldstein (Pasadena, Calif.) was 15th with a mark of 56.43m.
HOW IT HAPPENED -Â RUNNING EVENTS
- 3000m Steeplechase: Junior Jacob Cobb (West Deptford, N.J.) was ninth in his heat and 37th overall with a time of 9:01.28. Senior Paul Arroyo (Richardson, Texas) finished 60th in 9:16.73.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Cobb and Arroyo hold the top two Division III times in the 3000m Steeplechase to start the spring.Â
- Goldstein is currently 20th nationally in the Javelin.
- All three marks were New England DIII Championship qualifying marks.
