PROVIDENCE, R.I./DURHAM, N.C.— Senior Ziyad Hassan (Ashburn, Va.) recorded the third fastest 800m time in Division III this season at the Duke Invitational, as members of the No. 3 ranked MIT men's track & field team competed in Durham, N.C. and at the Friar Invitational in Providence on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED - Duke Invitational:
- 800m Invitational: Hassan finished 3rd in 1:50.05, trailing only a pair of competitors from Division I Clemson by less than a second.
- 1500m: Junior Tim Neumann (Downers Grove, Ill.) was 48th in 3:53.07.
HOW IT HAPPENED - Friar Invitational:
- 800m: First year Wyatt Vick (Chillicothe, Ohio ) was 18th in 1:59.11, while sophomore Connor Sterling (New Milford, Conn.) was 23rd in 2:00.13.
- 3000m Steeple: Junior Jake Cobb (West Deptford, N.J.) took 3rd in 9:01.16.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Hassan's time in the 800 is third in Division III
- Cobb's time in the 3000m Steeplechase is the fourth fastest in the region.
UP NEXT:
- MIT will close out competition on Saturday at the Duke Invitational.
