DEDHAM, Mass. – Paced by a 1-2 finish by sophomore Jonah Goldstein (Pasadena, Calif.) and first year Marc Baker (Landrum, S.C.) in the javelin, the No. 15 nationally ranked MIT men's track and field team competed on Saturday at the 2025 Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational, hosted by Northeastern University at the Solomon Track & Field Facility.

TOP PERFORMERS - Running Events:Â
- 100m: Senior Will Liu (San Marino, Calif.) took sixth in 10.88.
- 110m Hurdles: Junior Enoch Ellis (Garland, Texas) was third in 14.65.
- 200m: Senior Mozi Guobadia (Baton Rouge, La.) and sophomore Dylan Bradford (Highland, Md.) each finished in the top ten. Guobadia was seventh in 22.05 and Bradford was tenth in 22.54.
- 800m: Senior Ziyad Hassan (Ashburn, Va.) was 16th in 1:54.72.
- 1500m: Sophomore Tim Neumann (Downers Grove, Ill.) and first year Adarsh Iyer (San Jose, Calif.) had a strong showing. Neumann was third finishing in 3:50.54, a new personal record. Iyer finished 16th, also recording a PR, with a time of 4:01.93.
- 3000m Steeple: Junior Jake Cobb (West Deptford, N.J.) was the runner up in the event in 9:20.79.
- 4x100m Relay: Guobadia, Garrett Whitmore (Webster City, Iowa), Liu and Patrick Haertel (Cumming, Ga.) finished second in 41.91.
TOP PERFORMERS - Field Events:Â
- Javelin: Goldstein put in one of his best performances of the season, throwing 62.05m (203'07") to win the event. Baker gave MIT the 1-2 sweep with a throw of 56.56m (185'06").
- Triple Jump: Junior Sean Huckleberry (San Francisco, Calif.) was third with a mark of 14.09m (46'02.75").
- Pole Vault: First year Jaden McKee (Riverside, Calif.) with a season best height of 4.81m.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Overall MIT collected eight top five finishes on the day.
- Goldstein is now 16th national in the javelin while Baker is 63rd on the national list in the event.
- Bradford's time in the 200m was a season best for the sophomore.
- Along with a personal record, Neumann's time in the 1500m is the 18th best in Division III this season.
- Cobb's time in the steeple is 44th on the Division III national list.
