AT MIT

McCauley enters her thirteenth year at MIT in 2026-27 and her eighth as the Manager of Physical Education and Wellness.

McCauley has held many positions at MIT. Since 2009, she has taught Fitness (Yoga)/Stress Management, Fitness (Yoga)/Nutrition, and Fitness (Yoga)/Meditation. Additionally, McCauley served as the Program Coordinator for Physical Education & Wellness (PE&W) from 2013-2019, before being promoted to her current position. 

As the Program Manager, McCauley acts as the registrar for PE&W General Institute Requirement, she hires, trains, and manages part-time specialty instructors, advises students on completing their General Institute Requirement, supports the program development of mediation and dance, oversees all aspects of the Outdoor Education Programming, audits PE&W grades, and acts as a system administrator of database management for PE&W.

BEFORE MIT

McCauley came to MIT from being a General Manager at a corporate health club for ten years, at different locations in and around the Boston area. She managed the overall day-to-day operations for each location she managed, created business plans for each location, developed annual budgets, created marketing and personal training goals, was a customer service educator for the front line staff, acted as a corporate account manager, and recruited, hired, trained, and managed staff. Prior to this, McCauley worked at a health club as a Special Events Manager, Membership Services Coordinator, and a Personal Trainer. Finally, McCauley started her career as an Exercise Therapist for cardiac rehabilitation patients at a hospital.

OTHER EXPERIENCES

McCauley has completed a 200 hour Yoga Teaching Training course, a specialized certification in teaching children’s yoga, and a Mindfulness Fundamentals Certificate from Mindful Schools. Additionally, she is AED certified, CPR certified, FA certified, SCUBA certified, has a Reiki Master certification, and a Level 1 Kayak Instructor certification.

EDUCATION

McCauley received her Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science, and a minor in Management from Bridgewater State University in 1994.

FAMILY LIFE

McCauley was born and raised on the South Shore of Boston and still lives there to be close to her family and friends.
